Relaxing stay at Kenilworth on the Mary
This property is as advertised and we (my husband, parents & dogs) had a wonderful and relaxing 5 day stay. The house was spotless and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you could need or want to prepare meals, the beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms clean and well stocked. The living room had a lovely large flat screen TV and very good range of movies and books. The house has a lovely large verandah with views over the paddock down to the river and the green rolling hills beyond and a BBQ if needed. The garden is fully fenced for the dogs and was very secure. We walked the dogs down to the river twice a day where we all had a lot of fun exploring the water and swim holes. We also went down to the river to bird watch and the hope to see a platypus. No luck on the platypus, but the bird life was wonderful including Rainbow Bee-eater, Azure Kingfishers and Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos to name a few. Although we didn’t use them, there were also kayaks available if we wanted to explore the river a bit more. Kenilworth is only a short drive away with cheese tasting and great ice cream available at the dairy, an amazing bakery with incredible doughnuts that are worth looking at even if they are not your thing and the hotel with it’s own locally brewed beer. All 3 were dog friendly and we sat in the gardens with the dogs comfortably eating and drinking. We really enjoyed our stay and will be definitely book again and recommend it to all our friends.
