The beauty of the area motivated them to create their own special retreat in the Mary Valley. Whispers was purchased in 2005 and has hosted hundreds of guests. In 2010 Elin and Rick bought River Oaks which they have now lovingly restored in a French Provincial style.

The properties have now joined to form Mary River Holidays, and accommodates groups from 2 to 14.  Rick and Elin have become well known and liked locals in the Kenilworth community, and have established a successful Angus Lowline Stud with approximately 50 head of cattle.

Last year the cattle property was sold leaving just River Oaks, and the Little River Bach (pronounced batch)… and in 2019 Priscilla Queen of the Mary was a welcome addition to the property to cater for the larger groups, and offer an affordable tiny house style option for couples and small families.
